"I will not take a penny for the privilege of this position and instead will give the £320,000 salary* it brings to the Samaritans.
Vote for me on the 5th May to be the next Mayor of South Yorkshire to have a future where we can all have the best opportunities, right here in Yorkshire."
*Total salary for 4 year term
I joined the Yorkshire Party because I believe we can be a force for change. For too long, Yorkshire has been held back by decisions made by parties based in London.
Yorkshire deserves better. The Yorkshire Party was founded on a bold vision to be ambitious for ourselves, our families, our friends and our communities. I am standing for South Yorkshire Mayor because I believe in this vision.
Vote Simon Biltcliffe as your first choice on the 5th May.
Many thanks,
Simon

I grew up in Barnsley in the shadow of the Miners’ Strike, when coal was king.
When the Conservative political powers that be decided to shutter the north I was forced, like many others, to find work in the South.
I made the most of my opportunity down there but saw the evidence of the appalling regional inequality which is present throughout the country.
In 1996, I started my own business to challenge the “greed is good” world-view and prove that there was a better way where all could win according to their ability and opportunity, not to their privilege.
Having built a business model that focuses on sharing wealth made with employees and the wider community. We have donated £700,000 to charitable causes across the country, from environmental projects to assisting with food security support during the national lockdowns.
My company’s ethos is that all of society can and will prosper when we share the wealth created.
Enlightened business makes the only sustainable source of wealth that can be created and the taxes from this pays for the society we all deserve.
Clearly people want a different type of business, just as they want a different type of politician.
Politics allows us the opportunity to scale this approach to the benefit to all, not just the privileged few. This is the reason I am now standing for the position of the mayor of this place, I was born in, I live in, and I love, South Yorkshire.
I want to build a South Yorkshire that collaborates, rather than competes.
My aim is to bring to the South of Yorkshire the most connected wealth creating environment in the United Kingdom, one that sustainably benefits all those who chose to work, live or learn in this area.
This will be a significant step towards a strong devolved regional parliament for Yorkshire.
A parliament which can make the effective decisions to transform this county, decisions which have been lacking from Westminster for generations.
This is the core policy of the Yorkshire Party, of which I am proud to represent.
This will create better decision making for all the people of Yorkshire and leave the average family here 16% better off in a time where every person and family need it most; a stronger Yorkshire in a fairer United Kingdom.
Vote for a better society for all on the 5th May by voting for me as your first preference.
When you receive your ballot paper you will see all candidates have two boxes next to their names. When the votes are counted if one candidate has received over half of the first preference votes they will be elected, if not, the top two candidates go into a run-off, where all second preference votes are counted and added to their total vote figures. If a second preference vote was for a candidate outside of the top two, it will be discarded.
If you are impressed by Simon's history of helping his community or have had some faith restored in your politicians due to his promise to donate his wage to charity we ask of you to vote for him as your first preference. If you normally vote for one of the bigger parties but have decided that it changes nothing but are concerned about which party may end up winning it is better to vote for them as your second preference, as it is more likely both of your votes will end up being counted.
If you want to see change, vote for Simon Biltcliffe as your first preference.
The Yorkshire Party is pro-business as we appreciate that the only form of sustainable wealth creation is through great businesses creating wealth and the taxes that come from this wealth creation pay for the just society we all want.
We are neither beholden to the antagonistic relationship the Left has to business or in the pocket of the wealthy establishment & oligarchy that the Right cosy up to.
We support all good businesses that respect their workers, the environment and create opportunities with the community, and we want to build a network of these organisations in Yorkshire who can work for a stronger Yorkshire in a fairer UK.
Welcome to the Yorkshire Business Network - if you donate a minimum of £1000 to the Yorkshire Party and hold the above values you will be an official Supporter of the Yorkshire Party.
